1/6 scale track pins

Post by 50koruny »

For 1/6 scale tracks you can use basically any metal wire with a diameter of 2mm.
Anyway, there are better alternatives than classic steel wires.
Spring steel wire is difficult to cut, and ordinary gardening wire has to be laboriously straightened.
Plus - both are relatively heavy.
It is lightweight, straight and easy to cut.

1. aluminium based - AlSi5 TIG rod (Aluminum Welding Rods) - used for welding with TIG.

2. copper based - Stud Welding Nails - used at car workshops (thanks vanhasen for this idea).
Almost the exact length. They are sold in lengths of approx. 50mm.Probably the easiest to work with.
